Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was conceived in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood. As a youngster, Britney attended dance classes and excelled in gymnastics, winning numerous contests and similar. Britney was a fantastic singer and dancer. When she was just eight, Britney attempted to audition for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) but was turned down because of her age. This directed her to an off-Broadway musical, "Ruthless", for a 2-year run as the lead character. When she was 11 She tried her hand at The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and was this time able to make the show as a mouseketeer with many stars of today (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez of *NSYNC and Ryan Gosling). The biggest break for her, however, came after she was signed as Jive Recording Artists in the latter part of the 90s. Britney was an enormous success after the release of her debut album "...Baby one more time" in 1999. The album sold 13 million copies (as of July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" which came out in May 2000. Britney was born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and has a huge sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was bound to become a star from a young age. Britney loved singing and was influenced by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) at the age of was eight. But, she was not old enough to be accepted. Britney along with her little sister, Britney, moved to New York, where she played in a variety of TV commercials as well as in an off Broadway production called "Ruthless" which was directed by the direction by Natalie Portman. She discovered her love of dance and music 2 years later when she auditioned once more for "Mickey Mouse" and won the part with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
