Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix finished second in the 200 meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed an official contract with Adidas. In 2004, she enrolled in an institution called the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. In 2005, she was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007 beating her longtime Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed within the top three athletes at her particular events.
