Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan, blonde-haired and blue-eyed She was born Margaret Mary Emily Hyra in Fairfield Connecticut to Susan (Duggan) an ex- actress and English teacher, as well as Harry Hyra, a maths teacher. She has Ruthenian, Polish, Irish and German ancestry ("Hyra" is a Ruthenian surname, and "Ryan" is the maiden name of her maternal grandmother). Meg was graduated in June 1979 Bethel highschool, Bethel. In the fall of 1979, she relocated to New York, she attended New York University where she majored in journalism. Meg Ryan was her name and she began acting to earn money during her time at university. In 1981, she had her debut on the big screen with a brief appearance as Candice Bergen's daughter in George Cukor's final film Rich and Famous (1981). She auditioned , and was chosen to play Betsy in the daily television soap As the World turns (1956). From 1982 until 1984, she was a member of the ensemble. Meg was also a part of the television series One of the Boys (1982) that was later removed. In 1984, she moved to tinsel town and landed an opening in the western TV series Wildside (1985). Meg was a part-time actress in Top Gun (1986), later being included in Steven Spielberg's Innerspace (1987) which was a film in which she starred with Dennis Quaid. In D.O.A.'s remake, she once again starred alongside Quaid. (1988), and were married on Saint Valentine's Day 1991. Meg appeared in When Harry Met Sally... (1989), which made the scene at the restaurant famous. Meg was nominated for both the Golden Globe and the BAFTA. In 1990, she co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) and this time she played three roles as DeDe/Angelica/Patricia. She was also a part of the highly successful Sleepless in Seattle (1993) in which she received nominations for the Golden Globe. Meg determined to stand out from the crowd in 1994, playing the character of Meg as a mother/wife who has a drinking problem in When a Man Loves a Woman (1994). Following that, Meg went back to her "cute" I.Q. (1994) as well as French Kiss (1996). The year 1994 was the year that Meg won the Harvard Hasty Pudding Award as "Woman of the Year" and was named as one of "The 50 most beautiful women in the world in 1994" by People Magazine.
