Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn (born May 12 1972) is an American actress. She is best known for playing attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), where she is twice winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress for a series, Miniseries or Television Film. She was also on the NBC's Whitney (2011–2013), ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native was born on 12 May, 1972. Her mother was executive secretary in the United States Navy, her father was an agent in Naval Investigative Service. The family resided in Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and often moved around during her childhood. From a young age she was inspired by her grandparent and grandmother to study painting, drawing and architecture. In her pursuit of the art of the visual, she found an interest in acting. She was also introduced to modern theatre in the course of her college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art. Seehorn began her college career as an actor, and was guided by her acting instructor. She was employed in ancillary positions within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to be noticed. She was able to get the most important roles in local theater productions. However, she still required odd jobs to pay the bills. To help her pay the bills she took on parts in short industrial instructional films. Then she was part of more television productions. It was common for her to be compared to Bea Arthur, who was described by her as "very humorous," "sarcastic, and very intelligent" women. A majority of these roles ended up being ended after one or two seasons. In May 2014, Seehorn was cast in the Breaking Bad spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn plays Kim Wexler, who is a lawyer , and also the love of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
