Lil Tecca

Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born August 26, 2002), known professionally as Lil Tecca, is an American artist and rapper. His fame exploded with the release of his single from 2019 "Ransom" that peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track was released on his debut mixtape , We Love You Tecca (2019) which reached number 4 on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included the singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again". The album he released as his debut studio album,"Virgo" (2020), debuted at Number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also featured the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly" & "When You Down". His second mixtape "We Love You Tecca 2", was released in August 2021. It featured "Repeat It", and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was a son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. He was raised in the Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens however, he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. At a young age, Sharpe had aspirations of being in the NBA however, after 12 years of age Sharpe turned his attention towards pursuing a career in music. Sharpe was a student at Lawrence High School. When Tecca was nine years old, he responded to his interest in music by rapping along with his friends over his mic on his Xbox. The two would make diss tracks about each other. One of the tracks was uploaded to SoundCloud in the past, but it was later removed. At the beginning, he did not have intentions to start music and instead dreamed of becoming an NBA superstar. He began to pursue music more seriously after dropping his interest in basketball at the age of middle school. His first single, "Tectri", which gained some popularity in the early 2017 was produced in collaboration with and released by Lil Gummybear. Other tracks by Tecca comprise "Callin" and "Tectri". Tecca's career took off a year later, with the smash single "Ransom" that was released to Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel in May 22, 2019. The track reached the top spot at number 4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The track has received more than 90 million Spotify plays and more than 300 million YouTube views.
